I don't have to make a living from you. I have made my $ even before the property boom; so i don't have to sell you beers or tours or anything as my income is mainly non backpacker related. I have someone in charge that can help you with day tours to Soweto and trips to Kruger if you want to go & if you are interested but you can approach him. But note that we don't take shit. If you want to use the internet at 10pm or arrive at 5am and want to book a car right away or scoffs someone else's food then you will be asked to leave. And right away. If you want a Party hostel don't come here; i don't even have a bar. You are most welcome to buy your own beers though or go play in Hatfield - a taxi is only R30.

You will find here what i value when i travel - i've had my fill of shitty beds & pillows.
My mattresses are comfy and most the pillows are duck down.
The bathrooms are clean and we rarely run out of hot water.
The security is excellent and you can also use a small gun safe for your $; key deposit of R100 needed though.
There are 3 times more fire extinguishers than legally needed.
The kitchen has everything you need & there is always space in the fridge.
In 11,5 years we have NEVER run out of toilet paper.
And never had an armed robbery, rape, murder, death, fire or car stolen from the property.
We have given excellent advice over all the years and have saved 1000's of backpackers a lot of money.
Here you won't find some idiot giving your money belt out the safe to someone else.
Here you won't find the manager piseed & passed out behind the bar in the morning.
Here you won't find stuff disappearing out of locked rooms.
Here you won't find the owner then saying he is not responsible.

We do have bad points though...
we are starting to build in 6 phases in the next couple of months(prob end 06)so there should be a bit of construction happening.
Then with monthend the locals sometimes gets a bit noisy as they party a bit.
And though clean my place it not the neatest I've seen - things do lie around & my office (where you shouldn't be) is a bit of a mess ...... (Feel right at home when arriving!)..... BUT IT IS CLEAN.
Here you won't get fungus infection on your toenails...
And Safe - though in Sunnyside we are at the Eastern Top end closest to the University.

We work on a 1st paid, 1st served system; the only exceptions being for persons that have booked tours with us and then travellers we know returning. Everyone else needs to put full non refundable payment down for a confirmation of reservation, otherwise the 1st one through the door gets whatever is available. And lastly our rate is our rate and not negotiable. If you don't like our terms go elsewhere. If the words discount or expensive passes your lips i will ask you to leave right away. Or i won't take your booking like the 30 people i just turned away on 2 May 2006, later desperate as they realized that they actually blew a brilliant deal. These words are taboo at WOM! I've dealt with enough stupid people that look at price and not value so please - no more! And no pay no stay....simple!

And if you name is Sonya and you don't like the place when you arrive ffs have the guts and sense to open your mouth and we will steer you elsewhere. And if i have the decency to give you my room please don't thank me by lifting 7 of my ranger guide books worth 10 times what i charged you for the 1 night! So guess what - i'll never give up my room again...
